Climate Ambassador Communication Coordinator
Hours: 4-6 hours/week
Description: Care About Climate is seeking a volunteer to assist the Climate Ambassadors team to collaboratively create social media and communications. The Climate Ambassador Communication Coordinator will work with the Climate Ambassador team to develop content for social media. They will also collaborate with the communications team to post on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. This individual will work across the organization to facilitate collaboration and ensure that the Climate Ambassador program has a developed story within social media.
Responsibilities:
Attend weekly Climate Ambassador program meetings
Attend weekly Communication Team meetings
Be the voice of the Climate Ambassador program to an external audience
Develop storytelling around climate activist projects
Bring creative ideas for campaigns, content, and communications strategies to the team
Desired Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in English
Strong interest in climate activism and commitment to justice and equity
Interest in working with a global team
Attentiveness to deadlines
Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, facebook, twitter)
Strong writing skills
Independent work ethic
Bonus: ability to translate some content into one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Mandarin, or Arabic
Pluses (not at all required, but if you have them, mention them when you apply!):
Experience using some of the following: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, MailChimp, Canva/Photoshop/similar, Google Suite, Microsoft Office
Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, facebook, twitter)
Bonus: ability to translate some content into one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Mandarin, or Arabic

Note: This is currently an unpaid position, though we are happy to work with you if you’d like the role to meet any school internship or volunteer requirements. Although we aim to hire and stipend more people in the future, a majority of the Care About Climate team consists of volunteers.
